The Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Intern to join our Cell Engineering team, for a 6-month IEFP [+TALENTO] internship. The intern will be involved in the generation of stable cell lines, which can include overexpressing, reporter or knockout cell lines. Intern will participate in cell culture activities, transfection of cell lines with plasmid DNA, selecting cells with mammalian antibiotics, cell thawing and freezing and characterization of cell lines by flow cytometry or luciferase reporter assays. Intern may also be involved in sorting cells using Fluorescent Activated Cell Sorting (FACS).

Key Responsibilities


  • Support the generation of stable cell lines by contributing with cell culture, thawing and freezing cell lines, cell transfection, antibiotic selection and cell line characterization activities by flow cytometry or luciferase reporter assays.

  • May be involved in sorting cells using Fluorescent Activated Cell Sorting (FACS)

  • Analyse experimental data and write reports documenting the performed laboratory activities.

Your Profile


  • Eligible for IEFP [+TALENTO] internship.

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree (preferred) in the areas of Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or related field.

  • Knowledge of Office 365 (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.

  • Previous theoretical or hands-on knowledge of flow cytometry, cell culture and/or cell-based assays preferred.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Collaborative spirit and proactive.

  • Fluency in English.
